Volume 49 is currently being printed and should be in subscribers hands by the end of October. The book review department “Taking a Pitch” is back, and with two new authors. Well, one new and one transfer. Matt Mullinex has joined our writing staff and Mike McDermott moved over from the video reviews. They are both great writers and I know you will find their reviews informative and entertaining. Jack Oar will be filling the empty slot in the “Video Review” department. You may remember Jack from the early days of the magazine where he wrote the “Hawking Dogs” department. We are glad to have Jack back, and look forward to his reviews. In Volume 48 we debuted a new department, “Cooking Critters.” There isn’t an installment in Volume 49, but it’s not gone; we simply didn’t have any submissions. Now that the hawking season has started, and you hopefully have game in the freezer again, why not write up one of your favorite recipes.
